Brushed Engineered Classic Oak Flooring 15mm
A beautiful brushed engineered oak floor machined from FSC certified classic grade European oak. After machining, the boards are wire brushed, which raises the grain, producing a tactile, textured surface. The timber has a light biscuit tone with a distinctive grain pattern and natural figuring. Whilst most of the floor will contain minimal knots, some boards will display small filled knots and scatterings of pip, which enhance the natural beauty of the wood. The boards can be supplied with an optional hardwax oil finish or supplied unoiled - ready to take a finish of your own choice.
Board width: 185mm | Thickness: 15mm | Average board length: 2.4m
We are proud to be one of the very few companies who manufacture engineered hardwood flooring in the UK. Our 15mm Brushed Engineered Classic Grade European Oak flooring comprises a 3mm top layer of French oak bonded, using a high quality D4 adhesive, onto a base of 12mm moisture resistant medium-density fibreboard. This results in a hardwood floor that is far more tolerant to changes in temperature and relative humidity and displays little or no movement due to the cross bonding of layers. Our Engineered Oak retains the natural look and feel of solid oak flooring with the added benefit of strength and stability throughout. Due to its robust structural properties, our Engineered Oak flooring is ideal for installation in conjunction with under-floor heating systems.
All our wood floors are manufactured to order in our temperature controlled factory in Yorkshire. The timber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8-10%, thus making it compatible for use within a warm, dry property. We pre-plane the boards before final machining which results in accurately machined floorboards which are extremely straight, flat and a pleasure to fit. Mass produced imported floors are not made, or quality controlled, to the same high standards as a British Hardwoods wood floor.

Is your timber FSC certified?
All the raw timber we use is sustainably sourced from sawmills that are either FSC or PEFC certified.
Where does your timber come from?
Our European Oak is sustainably sourced from Northern France.
Do your engineered wood floors have a click joint?
No, as a traditional wood floor manufacturer all our hardwood floors are tongue and grooved on all four edges.
Are your engineered wood floors lacquered?
We don’t offer a lacquered finish; we recommend that lacquers are best applied once the floor is laid. Our optional factory finish is an Osmo Polyx Oil in a Clear Satin finish – more commonly known as Hardwax Oil. Our engineered wood floors can also be supplied unfinished, ready to take a finish of your own choice once laid.
What are the knots filled with?
We use a durable resin filler. The filler has a light grey appearance when unfinished, which darkens to a ‘black oak’ shade when finished with Hardwax Oil (or similar flooring finish).
Do you offer a fitting service?
As a manufacturer we supply only, we don’t offer a fitting or finishing service. If you are in the Yorkshire area, we can recommend a local hardwood floor fitter, please contact us for more information.
When will I receive my order?
Current guides to lead time are displayed at the top of the page underneath the main product heading and price.
How much is delivery?
The delivery charge depends on the total weight of the goods ordered and the delivery location. To calculate the delivery charge:
- Put all the goods you require into your shopping cart.
- Go to the shopping cart.
- Type your full delivery postcode in the 'Calculate Shipping' box and our website will calculate the accurate shipping charge for you.
Do you offer free delivery over a certain amount?
We feel that it is fairer and more honest to display delivery costs separately, rather than 'hide' them within the cost of our flooring. Transporting large loads of hardwood flooring around the UK is costly. The shipping price shown in the cart is the direct charge from the independent couriers we use.
Can I collect from your premises or arrange my own transport?
Yes – choose the “Customer Collect” option when placing your order. As soon your order is ready, we will contact you to let you know.
